Plan Ahead for Stress-Free Pet Travel.

Travelling with your pet requires careful planning, often well in advance of your departure date. Different countries have different rules, and some require specific vaccines, microchipping, parasite treatments, or government-endorsed health certificates within tight timeframes.

At The Hoxton Vet, we help you navigate these requirements so nothing gets missed. We recommend getting in touch as early as possible—ideally several weeks before travel—to ensure your pet is fully prepared and compliant with all destination regulations.

What do I need to travel with my pet?

If you're travelling to Europe with your pet, you'll need a Rabies Vaccine at least 3 weeks before travel, and an Animal Health Certificate issued by an official veterinarian within 10 days of travel.

It's important to plan ahead, as your pet must be microchipped and up to date with their rabies vaccination before the certificate can be issued.
